While in Cairns, we had a free afternoon and decided to see the Great Barrier Reef from above and had a spectacular flight with Cairns Seaplanes!

Cairns Seaplanes provides scenic flights to spectacular destinations.  Captain Alexander Penrose flew us over the Coral Sea to view part of the Great Barrier Reef,  a few sandy white cays and landed off the shore of Green Island, only 27 km across  from Cairns, and then motored us to Green Island’s shore where we were able to explore the island’s unique reef, crystal clear waters, and magical rainforest nature experience.  Within about 15 minutes from take off, we felt like we were on a remote island and a world away!  Green Island is an ancient coral cay and home to over 120 species of native plants, bird and marine life with endless coral gardens to explore.

Joel Tomkinson, Office Manager of Cairns Seaplanes escorted us to and from the seaplane and ensured our flight was extraordinary.  The most unique way to experience the majestic beauty of the Great Barrier Reef is with Cairns Seaplanes.
